DES MOINES (10/05/2025) - Citizens gathered at the United States Federal Building in Des Moines, Iowa on Friday to read names and give witness to tens of thousands of children dying in Gaza and the West Bank.
"Here you can see our expertise and devotion to do what we do better than anyone else in the world, said the Grim Reaper. "Make machines that kill other human beings."
In the form of bodies lying on the ground to represent Palestinian children, the Reaper lurked and spoke softly around a TV news reporter (see 'You Tube' video below).
A handful of U.S. citizens convened on a global warming October afternoon. Though polls show the population finds this repugnant, the protesters concede it's something Republicans and Democrats at the national level can agree on.
"We might not actually have a functioning government. We might even be slipping into a one-party authoritarian state. But we can always inflate stock prices in our permanent war economy," said one amateur economist.
And that keeps the Grim Reaper busy.
A few protesters argued it would be better to feed and educate children rather than to kill them.
