What We Do
- Regularly post articles about peace and justice in Iowa, the United States, and world.
- Publish a quarterly journal about peace, social justice and the environment.
- If you would like to receive a copy of our journal or to share copies, email your mailing address to us and we will add you to the mailing list.
- You can also enter your email address in the box labeled "follow by email" to receive automatic updates when we post content.
- Maintain an events calendar of peace and justice activities around Iowa and the Midwest.
- We also email a weekly update to our supporters that includes upcoming events around Iowa, articles from the past week on the IPN blog, a petition, and an item from our resource library. Please send us your email address if you'd like to receive these emails.
- Administer The Penalty Sharing Community, providing support for people who refuse to pay taxes for war or fines for penalties for acts of nonviolent civil disobedience.
- Like something we post? Republish it for free! But there are a few conditions:
- Attribute the work to Iowa Peace Network and the specific author in the byline as follows: Author name, Iowa Peace Network
- Do not alter our content except for editing style or to reflect changes in time and place.
Opinions policy
- Expressed commentary in our posts reflects the opinion of the author, but it does not necessarily reflect the views of Iowa Peace Network.
- Letters to the editor and guest articles may be emailed to us. If your submitted piece is over 500 words, please make arrangements with the editor in advance. All submissions must be signed and include contact information for verification.
- Iowa Peace Network strives to provide readers with accurate information. If one of our articles contains a statement that is factually incorrect, a request for a clarification or correction may be made. Corrections and clarifications will be appended to the piece’s online version and appear in the next print edition of our journal. Readers who believe they have found a factual error in our articles may notify us via email.
Motivated by faith and conscience, we invite all who desire a more peaceful world to unite with the Iowa Peace Network. As a community we work to educate, promote nonviolent cooperative action, and encourage those who pursue peace. By posing life-affirming solutions, we hope to achieve stability and peace in the world. We support peace by addressing social, economic, and environmental justice, and practicing peace as members of the world community.
